Incidentally Detected Rare Retroperitoneal Tumor: Ganglioneuroma
نویسندگان
چکیده
A primary extra-adrenal retroperitoneal ganglioneuroma was found incidentally in a 22-year-old woman during screening for suspected pregnancy by transvaginal ultrasonography (TVS) and subsequently magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). TVS MRI revealed well defined solid mass at the level of L5 to S2 vertebrae displace right common iliac external vessels. Limited cuts region Computed tomography (CT) were taken no calcification identified. Histological examination showed that lesion an composed mature ganglion cells confirmed immunohistochemistry.

Incidentally detected ganglioneuroma during pregnancy: A case report
Retroperitoneal ganglioneuroma is a rare benign tumor, which is included in the neuroblastomas group. It can occur anywhere along the peripheral autonomic ganglion sites, and the tumor is often incidentally detected in asymptomatic patients or may produce symptoms related to the slow growing tumor. Surgical excision is the treatment of choice and the prognosis is good. We report a case of retro...
متن کاملRetroperitoneal Ganglioneuroma
A 10-year boy presented with a painless swelling in the left upper abdomen which gradually increased in size. Physical examination revealed a non tender, smooth, firm and an irregular mass in left hypochondrium extending to left lumbar region. On ultrasound, a hypoechoic lesion (14cm x10cm) in left suprarenal region was noted. Computed tomography (CT) revealed a large (18cm x 12cm) lobulated hy...
متن کامل[Retroperitoneal ganglioneuroma].
Ganglioneuroma is an infrequent tumor composed of sympathetic ganglion cells and sheathed neurites. It arises mainly from the large sympathetic chains, most frequently in the posterior mediastinum and retroperitoneum, but rarely may develop from the peripheral sympathetic chains. It is usually benign, and may grow asymptomatically to relatively large size. However, it can cause symptoms due to ...
متن کاملGiant retroperitoneal ganglioneuroma.
Ganglioneuromas are infrequent neurogenic tumours. They are generally benign and lymphatic or haematogenic metastases are rare. They grow slowly and may secrete hormones. They are usually present in people aged between 10 and 40 years. The most common location is in the posterior mediastinum and the retroperitoneum. They are usually asymptomatic and, when there are symptoms, these depend on the...
متن کاملRetroperitoneal Ganglioneuroma Mimicking a Kidney Tumor. Case Report
BACKGROUND Ganglioneuroma (GN) is a rare benign tumor arising from the neural crest cells. The reported incidence of GN is one per million population. As a primary retroperitoneal tumor, it constitutes only a small percentage of 0.72 to 1.6%. GN can arise de novo or as a result of maturation of a neuroblastoma either spontaneously or after chemotherapy. The most common location is the posterior...
